History 2006 - 1996

2006 Rapid growth at BLANCO SteelArt necessitates additional production capacity. The 40 millionth sink rolls off the production line. A state-of-the-art sheetmetal working centre in Oberderdingen goes into production. BLANCO unveils its new roundabout and forecourt. E.G.O. celebrates its 75th anniversary. New showroom for CMS. SteelArt’s Internet presence wins the IF Design Award. Award for exemplary environmental protection from the state of Baden-Württemberg. Launch of BLANCO Ice – the cooling system which needs neither mains power nor cables. Frank Straub receives CRT Award for ethical approach to business. New subsidiaries founded at home and abroad.
2005 A new production shop with over 5,000 m² of floor space is opened in the Czech Republic and staffing is increased accordingly. Representative office is opened in Shanghai, China. The BLANCO SteelArt sub-brand is introduced.
In Canada, BLANCO is chosen as “Vendor of the year” by Home Depot. BLANCO SteelArt is the first to achieve stainless steel bowls with a 10mm radius.
BLANCO exhibits at the MEBEL in Moscow for the first time. Undermount bowls now also available in SILGRANIT®.
2004 The products BLANCOSELECT SOLON and BLANCOTALOS are awarded the “iF Design Award Winner 2004” design prize.
BLANCOCOSMO is awarded the Design Award of the Chicago Athenaeum.
BLANCO America opens a new 25,000 m² warehouse.
MEDICAL SYSTEMS is awarded a bulk order to equip a hospital in Hamburg-Barmbek.
2003 The staff newspaper has a new layout and a new title “BLANCO Horizon”. Yet another design prize for BLANCOSELECT BOTTON: the IF Award. The capacity of the Sinsheim factory is increased. 45 new jobs are created. ChromoDur and PuraDur-SILGRANITTM  set new standards for easy-care sink materials.
2002 The former Food Service Equipment and Medical Engineering Divisions merge to form the new corporate division: CATERING + MEDICAL SYSTEMS. Domestic Technology is now called KITCHEN TECHNOLOGY. Aschinger House, a museum of industrial heritage dedicated to the three main entrepreneurs Aschinger, Blanc and Fischer, is opened in Oberderdingen. A second production line for the US market is set up in the Sulzfeld factory. The FVKK (trade association for Synthetic Consumer Goods) declares the BLANCOAXIA 6 S sink to be the Product of the Year 2002. MEDICAL SYSTEMS extends its range of sterilisation equipment with a new transport and storage shuttle.
2001 In Pforzheim, the local transfer group of the “Caux Round Table”, which was founded by Frank Straub, makes its first public appearance.
“Caux Round Table“ is an international alliance of managers and companies from 25 nations which deals mainly with issues of business ethics.
BLANCO introduces a new generation of sinks, the AXis sinks. A pioneering innovation. Rolf Waldi takes over the management of the Food Service Equipment Division.
With new products such as the RECALDO UNO induction platform for reheating food, the RECALDO CLASSICO induction trolley with convection cooling, and the tables on castors, BLANCO proves its innovative strength.
BLANCO expands its range with ceramic sinks.
The North American market develops into one of the most important sales regions for Kitchen Technology.
In Sulzfeld, the first production line manufacturing sinks exclusively for the American market goes into operation.
KT field services uses the first two BLANCO Roadshow vans to introduce new products to its customers.
2000 In May, BLANCO celebrates its 75th anniversary with the slogan “Swing into the Future”. BLANCO continues to focus strongly on exports: it is able to increase its export share to 35%. The Medical Engineering Division launches its new MEGAprogress cabinet system. Front cooking systems and the SERIE S furniture programme are launched.
1999 Interlinked press line in Sulzfeld goes into service. Some DM 20m has been invested. Sulzfeld is the most modern production site for stainless steel sinks in the world. The information centre in Oberderdingen is re-designed, the conference area is equipped with the latest communication technology. Blanco has 26% share in the Indian sink manufacturer Pheonix in Mumbai. The 30 millionth sink rolls off the production line in the Sulzfeld factory. Sink centres with sliding cutting board in safety glass are introduced for the first time.
1998 A new logistics center goes into operation in Bruchsal. In the “Products of the Year 1998” competition, the FVKK (trade association for Synthetic Consumer Goods) awards a prize to the BLANCODELTA SILGRANIT® corner sink. BLANCO parts company with its operating tables business. BLANCO MED GmbH in Saalfeld/Thuringia is sold to Trumpf in Ditzingen. BLANCO acquires a majority holding in Wolf Kunststoffe GmbH, a plastics company in Leipzig and Sternenfels for the manufacture of BLANCOTHERM containers..
1997 BLANCO adopts a new strategic direction. This new orientation is represented by “5 stars”, which are the symbol for different objectives. The 5-stars vision is communicated.
Globally applicable environmental guidelines in the BLANCO Group. The BLANCOLUNA domestic sink is awarded the 'Roter Punkt' for the best possible design quality in the “Design Innovations 97” competition. A separate sales group is set up for industrial parts.

1996

The Domestic Technology, Food Service Equipment and Medical Engineering divisions are created as part of the “PRO 96” restructuring project. Achim Schreiber takes over as Head of the Domestic Technology Division. Company founder is officially honoured on his 100th birthday: the secondary school in his birthplace Großvillars is named the “Heinrich Blanc School”. Success also in the field of design: BLANCO is awarded the Federal Design Prize for the design of its operating tables. A new production line for the series production of stainless steel sinks goes into operation in the Sulzfeld factory. The first eco-audit is carried out at the Sinsheim factory.
